Steve Willis
Steve Willis was ordained to be the pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Woodruff, South Carolina in 1995 and has been a solo pastor ever since. He has written a book about rural ministry, Imagining the Small Church, Celebrating a Simpler Path (Rowman and Littlefield, 2012).
Steve and his wife, Amy Merrill Willis, were married in 1993 at Watts Chapel at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond. Amy is a professor of religious studies at the University of Lynchburg and also a Presbyterian minister.
They live in Bedford and have two children. Merri is in her final year at the University of Lynchburg studying history. Nate is an academic advisor to athletes at Appalachian State University.
Steve enjoys living fifteen minutes from being able to hike the Appalachian Trail and he also plays golf regularly and badly. He feels deeply blessed to be the pastor of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church.
